1- COURSES: The language of instruction at Goethe University is mostly German and the absolute minimum level we require is B1 CEFR.
Nevertheless, some departments offer classes in English. They can be found easily by going to the online course catalogue, and by switching the language of instruction to “English” in the "Search for Lectures" form. (https://www.goethe-university-frankfurt.de/44386987/International_Exchange_and_ERASMUS_Students__Incoming). Erasmus+ students need to select the field of study of the cooperation between our universities on the application form. If students would like to take courses in a field of study outside of the established cooperation, they need to ask for permission at the respective faculty/ department. The decision should be forwarded to incoming@uni-frankfurt.de.
International exchange students can find all necessary information on our website (http://www.io.uni-frankfurt.de/incoming/en). Students can check the course overview of the current semester (https://qis.server.uni-frankfurt.de), in order to get a general impression of courses offered. They can access the course catalogue without login.
2- HOUSING IN DORMS: The limited student housing allotment is distributed first-come, first-served based upon upload date and time in the work-flow (student’s personal account online portal (Mobility‑Online)). Exchange students may apply for accommodation in a students’ residence hall. In general, every semester, there are more applicants than there is accommodation available. Therefore, no guarantee can be given that students will receive accommodation in student housing. Admission as an exchange student does not guarantee accommodation through the allotment for exchange students. We recommend applying as early as possible for a room. As far as private accommodation is concerned students should also take into consideration to not only stay in the city centre but also in the near surroundings. For further information please see :https://www.goethe-university-frankfurt.de/44421703/accommodation.
3- HEALTH INSURANCE : Exchange students have to prove health insurance valid in Germany. Health insurance is not provided by the University, please see:https://www.goethe-university-frankfurt.de/44421804/health_insurance.
