About Singapore Management University
Singapore Management University (SMU) is known for "pushing the boundaries of innovation, creativity and academic excellence". City
Singapore is one of the unique cities in the world that is transformed from being a small village to a metropolitan city in less than 50 years. Singapore is always open to its visitors, and offers a variety of activities from different areas such as arts, architecture, nature and festivals.
‣ Language Certificate
TOEFL score of at least: i. 550 for the paper-based test; or ii. 213 for the computer-based test; or iii. 79 for the internet-based test b. IELTS result of at least 6.5; or c. any other English Language qualifications as determined by SMU.
‣ Notes
• Only Bachelor/undergraduate-level courses are offered to exchange students, except for students on the Themis programme.
• Nominated students must have completed at least one year of undergraduate studies before commencement of exchange programme at SMU; and must be a registered undergraduate in their home university throughout their study term in SMU.
• Course enrolment is via a bidding process. The result is NOT guaranteed and subject to SMU’s academic policies. Therefore, nominated students are strongly advised to have a flexible course plan to avoid any disappointment. It is strongly advised that nominated students should NOT be completing their final term of studies during their exchange programme at SMU. Their graduation plan could be at risk if they are unable to register for their desired courses.
• All students are required to sit for the final examinations as scheduled by SMU. No rescheduling of exams will be allowed.
• All students are required to pay a miscellaneous fee (approximately S$250 for one term or S$400 for one year) which covers registration, matriculation, medical insurance, IT services and student activities. This fee is mandatory and non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances including the outcome of the Student’s Pass and any border restriction measures.
International students will be covered by the SMU Medical Insurance during their stay in Singapore. More information about the coverage can be found here.
First come first serve in selecting courses. Only undergraduate programs/schools. There is no course guarantee on course availability. Students should exercise flexibility with alternative courses.
All incoming students are recommended to take 50% of the courses to the SMU school that they are nominated for exchange.
