About Tokyo Metropolitan University

TMU is a public university based in Tokyo. The university has different campuses, all located in Tokyo Prefecture. Main campus is 30 minutes away from the central Tokyo. University currently has approximately 9000 students, most of the students are undergraduate level, while approximately 2000 of them are graduate students. Being a research oriented university, Tokyo Metropolitan University received the highest score of 100.0 citations in 2013-2014 Times Higher Education World University Rankings. TMU has four faculties, 28 divisions, 6 graduate schools, 30 departments.

If student will take courses in English, no certificate needed. If students will take Japanese courses, Japanese Language Test N1 is expected

‣ Notes

1- English-taught classes are offered mainly at Minami-Osawa Campus, one of our 3 main campuses. It is strongly recommended that students who havea Japanese Language Proficiency Level equivalent to JLPT N1 or higher to attend regular courses for degree-seeking students. 2- Under the Immigration Control Law, students studying on a “Student” visa must be enrolled full time and required to have 10 or more hours of in-class study or academic work per week. 3- Please refer to the course list and Syllabus of “SATOMU Program” ::::>http://www.ic.tmu.ac.jp/english/study_abroad/exchange_class.html 4- All exchange students are required to live in our guaranteed accommodation.
