‣ Language Certificate
For bachelor students we only accept (no other tests accepted anymore – exceptions for native speakers – we ask for copy of passport): • IELTS Academic: overall score of 6, speaking score of 6, writing score of 5.5 • TOEFL iBT: overall score of 80, speaking and writing score of 19 • Cambridge Advanced English (CAE) and Cambridge Proficiency (CPE): overall score of C, B or A • From our EU partners: CEFR test: overall score, but also speaking, listening, reading and writing a score of B2 For master students we only accept (no other tests accepted anymore – exceptions for native speakers – we ask for copy of passport): • IELTS Academic: overall score of 6.5, speaking score of 6, writing score of 6.5; • TOEFL iBT: overall score of 90, speaking and writing score of 21 • Cambridge Advanced English (CAE) and Cambridge Proficiency (CPE): overall score of C, B or A • From our EU partners: CEFR test: overall score, speaking and writing score of C1
1- Business/Economics: Entry requirements for students that would like to do an exchange at our faculty: 1) need to study a bachelor programme in the field of economics and/or business; students need to have taken a minimum of 10-12 courses (60 ECTS) in the field of economics and business. Students should have covered subjects such as statistics, microeconomics, macroeconomics, (financial) accounting and research methods. 2- have a sufficient English language proficiency; 3- for MSc exchange, we will need to receive a photocopy of your Bachelor degree. Students need to have business /economics background . 4- The University of Groningen is not a campus university and therefore does not offer campus accommodation. However, through third parties there are many (student)houses and apartments available. We advise students to book accommodation with an organization that is specialized in (international) student housing: SSH. Our website provides more information: www.rug.nl/feb/exchange. 5- for non-EU students: student knows that they will have to transfer ~5.000 Euros visa deposit per semester at once to the University to study in Groningen 6- Bachelor exchange students can only attend courses open to bachelor exchange students, while master exchange students can attend courses open to bachelor and master exchange students.
